Compogrid jQuery

Combogrid, like autocomplete, when added to an input field, enables users to quickly find and select from a pre-populated list of values as they type, but in a tabular and paginated manner. Combogrid provides keyboard navigation support for selecting an item.
And It’s ThemeRoller-ready.

Since combogrid is a solution to manage big data set, the source is only reached dynamically through Ajax callbacks specifying a URL (no array source).

It can be integrated with any server-side technology.

The Combogrid plugin expects a string to point to a URL resource that will return JSON data. It can be on the same host or on a different one (must set JSONP datatype).

The request parameter “searchTerm” gets added to that URL. The data itself can be in the same format as the local data described above.

In addition to “searchTerm” other request parameters are

• page: the requested page (initially set to 1)
• rows: the number of rows per page (default 10)
• sidx: the initial sorting name
• sord: the initial sorting order

The minimum required settigs by ComboGrid are “url”, “colModel” and the function on select an item

Τεόφιλο Στίβενσον

Τον Ιούλιο του 1976 ο Τεόφιλο Στίβενσον κατατροπώνει τους αντιπάλους του στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Μόντρεαλ.

Ο Στίβενσον σε ανάγκαζε να καθηλωθείς στην καρέκλα σου για να τον παρακολουθήσεις και να τον θαυμάσεις. Ο Σενεγαλέζος, Μαμαντού Ντραμέ, ο Φινλανδός, Πέκα Ρούοκολα και ο Αμερικανός, Τζον Τέιτ δεν «έβγαλαν» όλον τον αγώνα όρθιοι.

Ο περίφημος Κουβανός τους νίκησε με νοκ άουτ. Τον πρώτο στον B΄ γύρο και τους άλλους στον A΄. Συνολικά οι τρεις τους άντεξαν μόλις 7 λεπτά και 22”. Απέναντί του στον τελικό βρέθηκε ο Ρουμάνος, Μίρτσα Σιμόν. Ο δυστυχής δεν ένιωσε και πολύ το σφυροκόπημα του Στίβενσον, γιατί προσπαθούσε να τον αποφύγει όσο γινόταν. Γι’ αυτό άντεξε δύο γύρους (κάθε γύρος διαρκούσε τρία λεπτά), αποδεικνύοντας, ότι δίκαια είχε φτάσει στον τελικό. Ηταν ο καλύτερος πυγμάχος του κόσμου στην κατηγορία του στη διοργάνωση. Γιατί ο Στίβενσον δεν ήταν του κόσμου τούτου…

Οταν άρχισε ο τρίτος γύρος, ήταν φανερό πού οδηγούνταν τα πράγματα. Πάραυτα, λοιπόν, η «γωνία» του Σιμόν, δηλαδή ο προπονητής του, έσπευσε να ρίξει την πετσέτα στο ρινγκ, σημάδι ότι ο αθλητής του εγκαταλείπει.

Ο Στίβενσον, όπως ο περίφημος Αμερικανός, Μοχάμετ Αλι (Κάσιους Κλέι), συνδύαζε τη δύναμη του πυγμάχου της κατηγορίας των βαρέων βαρών με την ταχύτητα και την κινητικότητα αυτού των ελαφρών. Αντίθετα, όμως, προς τον Αλι και άλλους επαγγελματίες πυγμάχους, δεν υπέστη σημαντικές βλάβες. «Δεν έχει αλλάξει από τον γίγαντα, που τρομοκρατούσε τους αντιπάλους του, μόνο με την όψη του», έγραψε γι’ αυτόν προ διετίας, η βρετανική εφημερίδα «Ομπσέρβερ».

Ο πατέρας του ήταν σωματώδης και προπονητές τον προέτρεψαν ν’ ασχοληθεί με την πυγμαχία. Επαιξε μόνο σε επτά αγώνες, διότι γρήγορα προσγειώθηκε στη σκληρή πραγματικότητα από το διεφθαρμένο σύστημα πληρωμής των νεαρών πυγμάχων.
